Having stayed at Hamptons many times before without a problem, this particular hotel has a "No Pets" policy, even for small, non-shedding breeds, apparently. (And in spite of their recently touted "we wash all bedding" advertisements) The staff person who happened to notice our little Shih Tzu in the car was decidedly unfriendly about making sure that she had "discovered" our transression (there was no mention of this policy in any noticeable text of the hotel's web entry) and brusquely was ready to simply refuse our business... without making any effort to check for other alternatives (another hotel next door happened to be pet-friendly, fortunately). Not what I expected, compared to normally pleasant and professional staff of employees at other Hampton Inns.
