Good Experience!

The hotel is in a great location, walking distance within many great restaurants and bars in the downtown Hollywood art deco district. It is an older property but has been refurbished. Our room was clean and the continental breakfast was more than adequate. No complaints at all. The overnight parking fee was only $3.95 per night and it is self-park. Very convienient to US Route 1 and I-95. If you need to be in the Hollywood area I definitely recommend this hotel, especially for the online travel website price.

Stay at you own risk

The staff was very professional and helpful. The room was not something to brag about. The bathroom was unsanitary, I guest housekeeping forgot to clean the toilet. I didn't notice the bad cord on the iron and when I used it. The iron, iron cover and ironing board caught on fire. What a scare. Thankful the staff acted immediately to resolve the problem. I do recommend this hotel because of its location and staff but it won't be my first choice in the future.

Hospitality Could Be Better

First the bad news: We were charged $3.95 per night to park in the parking garage of our own hotel. Shouldn't that be included? Then, on the last day, when we asked for a late checkout at 1:30 instead of 11:00 so that we could fit in a snorkeling trip before our plane, we were told that we could either store all of our stuff in the bellman's closet or pay $50 for an extra half-day. We had to race back up to the room and frantically stuff everything into our suitcases and rouse my wife's mother who wasn't feeling good and race downstairs to the car then drive like maniacs to make the boat. Again, an opportunity for them to provide a little SERVICE which doesn't cost them anything, but they chose not to. The room wasn't dirty, but it wasn't as clean as it could be, either (dust on the shelves, hairs on the bathroom floor after housekeeping was done). Now the good news: The hotel is located right in the middle of the downtown Hollywood area, which has many shops and clubs and ethnic restaurants within walking distance. It is also centrally located between Ft. Lauderdale and Miami. It's about 15 minutes to the airport or to Hollywood Beach, which is much less crazy than the Miami beaches. The breakfast lady was very nice. The baggage guy was very helpful with directions and local attractions. The pool looked nice, but we didn't check it out. Four pillows per bed was a plus for me.

This hotel is in an awsome location, you are within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and parks. The room could have been cleaner. The refrigerator had a white ring around it on the carpet, which tells me that they don't shampoo the carpeting very often. The concierge was very friendly, but called me a van service to take me to Port Everglades that cost me $90, when it should have been much less! Make sure you check the cab price before you get in!
