Everything We Hoped For!

We recently stayed at the Sleep Inn in Asheville (10-23-08) and we were extremely pleased! Front desk personnel were very friendly and helpful upon check-in and recommending restaurants and giving directions to the Biltmore Estate. During our stay, construction was going on right next door and the lady at the front desk made sure she put us as far away from the construction as possible so that was greatly appreciated. Room was very clean and even had a fridge and a microwave. We had a king bed and it was very comfortable. The shower is a stand up shower but is very large with a light in the shower itself. We enjoyed having a nice shower in a hotel. Although the hotel does have smoking rooms available, we stayed in a non-smoking room and it did not smell like smoke at all which was something we were afraid of. The hall on the other hand does have a smell but not 100% sure it was a smoke smell. The complimentary hot breakfast was excellent! Would definitely stay there again!! Excellent!

GREAT STAY!!

I have to admit that I'm a super picky about the hotels we stay in. I have a 2 year old daughter so cleanliness is more important than anything. I was so thrilled with this hotel and it was worth every penny. We got the king room so that our daughter could sleep between us. The room looked and smelled new! The bed was extremely comfortable and the sheets were great quality for a hotel. The carpet and the bathroom were completely clean and stainfree. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and recommend it to others!

My husband and i feel that the Sleep Inn hotel is a very good hotel and provides excellent value. We like the simplicity of it all. No fuss; always excellent service; great breakfast (by comparison to other similar hotels).

Would not recommend this hotel to anyone - terrible manager

This hotel was absolutely terrible. I traveled to Asheville for job interviews & actually had to check out and go to another hotel so that I could get some sleep. According to the manager (who was quite rude) the water heater had some sort of problem (which sounded like a jack hammer right outside the door from 3am - 5am). He then stated that this problem was not his fault but was the "cities fault" (not sure about that reasoning) & therefore he would not refund our $$ for the night..... I left of course & checked into the Sleep Inn Biltmore (Hendersonville Rd) which was fabulous, QUIET, and had tempur-pedic beds which were wonderful for catching up on the sleep we lost the night before!!!

Good Choice!

My fiance and I stayed in room 220 March 14th-17th as we traveled back and forth to Bristol MotorSpeedway. I lucked out and got a room with a king size bed for $52.79 per night. Price was great, for a room and amenities like they have here, I would expect to pay $80-$90 per night. Entire room was spotless. Oversized walk-in shower was nice, plenty of hot water. Our bed had a pillowtop for extra comfort. A/C and heat worked fine and was very quiet. I am using the free WIFI (pretty darn fast) offered by Sleep Inn West to write this review. Breakfast downstairs includes make your own waffles, cereal, toast, bagels, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits...just to name a few. Not to mention all the milk, juice, and coffee that you want. The only thing(s) that kept me from giving this place five stars.... They do not use bedside lamps, they use flourescent lights. Way too bright to have on at night while watching TV and trying to relax. These lights are directly overhead. Leave them off and just get up and turn one of the smaller lights off before bed. Ask for a room on the front side of the hotel. There are several restaurants on the side facing the interstate and the garbage trucks come pretty early to empty the dumpsters. Didn't bother us since we were up already. One little spot of mildew on the roof of the shower that got overlooked. In conclusion, this is a fine hotel. If you are on a budget like we are, this place is for you. Amenities worked well for us. The good out-weighed the bad and will definately be back next year.
