Great bed!

Our king bed was extremely comfortable! The room was small, but the price was right. The bathroom, while clean, was definitely old. The vanity had only been repainted to try to modernize, but the paint was chipping off and the wallpaper seams were showing. The staff was pleasant, also the restaurant and valet people. We drove to DC, so drove to all our sightseeing, which was within minutes of the hotel.

I recently stayed at the Churchill Hotel and was very pleased with my overall stay. This htoel is situated in an old apartment house which has been lovingly renovated. Our room was small but charming. It had a refrigerator and free bottled water was provided. The bed was very comfy and we liked the "turn down" service in the evening. A big plus was the free internet service provided. Two free PCs with internet access were available which came in very handy to check e-mail an dthe stock market. I would recommend staying at the Churchill.

THis hotel was just as advertised!! It was really worth it, and was a nice change from the standard every day hotel chains. Turn down service and bottle water each night, that was a nice addition. Would definately recommend and stay there again! THe bedding was extremely nice and bed slept wonderful!

Overall - substandard

Overall I would not recommend this hotel. The AC in the hotel did not work at all the first night and additionally the unit in my room broke down the second night (which was in the summer). The night manager was extremely rude about it and did not follow through on anything. I was told I was just having bad luck. He finally offered to change rooms for me from a smoking to nonsmoking room and rudely said to me to take it OR ELSE.... The location is over a half mile uphill from the Metro, not conveniently located as described. On the plus side, there are computers in the lobby with internet use for free and restaurant inside the hotel was pretty good.
