Bugs in Room, Staff Sub-Par, Breakfast Awful

My husband and I took an extended driving trip through many states in February. Unfortunately, we chose this dump to stay in on our last night on the road. It was horrible, from check-in to check-out. I can't believe anyone would stay there more than once. When I reported the room was crawling with ants, the desk clerk told me it couldn't be, as it wasn't even "season" for them. I informed her that we killed many and left them stuck to the wall. They were even crawling on us in the bed! She just gave me a blank stare. It took several attempts for the check-in person to make keys that would work in our assigned room. That should have told us to seek a different motel for the night. There was an overpowering fuel smell that permeated the entire second floor. The so called breakfast was disgusting, they should be ashamed to advertise it as a meal. We spent a miserable night and were only too glad to leave as another man was reporting mice in his room. CLEAN it up folks, or close the doors!

The entire facility reeks of smoke in spite of the "This is a smoke free facility" sign at the front desk. Requests for a true non-smoking room from two separate guest at the same time brought a shrug and an offer to use a can of air freshener. The staff was totally disinterested in the guests. The breakfast was sub par, even for this kind of facility. Unless you are a smoker and like generic fruit loops stay away!
