Great Place for a Wedding Reception

We held a wedding reception at the Holiday Inn Charlottesville (University Area) several weeks ago and the celebration was fantastic. We had 200 guests (many from out of town) and the hotel staff was extremely courteous. The banquet facilities were recently remodeled which made the environment top notch. But the best part of the occasion was the banquet staff and the food. From the planning to the actual event, we could not have asked for a more professional and first class team. We had no worries as everything was planned down to the little details. The food was excellent. We can say this several weeks later since we continue to hear from many of the guests who attended the wedding and the reception continues to be the topic of conversation. They rave about the excellent food, the staff who worked the reception and the overall great experience they had.
I would highly recommend the Holiday Inn Charlottesville if you are planning a special banquet occasion.
Loud...

There was a concert in town, so I expected some loudness, but this was ridiculous! People were running up and down the halls yelling and banging on doors in the middle of the night. In addition, I think the maid staff room was right above our room, and we could hear them talking all night with a tv blaring, and rolling a chair back and forth across the floor. The beds were comfortable, and everything was clean. I was very impressed with their buffet breakfast.

I booked a 1 king size bed room, I received a room with two doubles. Nobody would own up to the mistake and it took two nights to get the room I wanted. A front desk clerk actually argued with me telling me "I doubt your going to get to change rooms because we only have four left,so if someone calls for them they will get them because you already have a room. When I said "So you don't care about customer service for the customers you already have?", he tried to say I was just a "Travel agent" customer. I explained to him that as a "Travel agent Customer" I had multiple hotels to choose from and I chose Holiday Inn. That will be the last time I choose a Holiday Inn. This clerk was not the only univiting employee I encountered during my stay, only the worst.
Convenient, Clean Hotel

Just off a main highway, this hotel was convenient for us. The front desk people were helpful. We were quickly and graciously checked in and given our keys. There were 3 of us and we were given 3 keys. We ate dinner in the dining room and it was quite fine. We also easily walked next door to a small store attached to a gas station, where we could buy batteries and medicine, etc. The bathroom was clean and adequate and the two double beds were comfortable. All 3 of us slept well, the hotel was fairly quiet over night. We noticed that the staff heightened security by keeping the main door as the only entrance, with the side door near our room just used as an emergency exit. We would stay here again.
