Location, Location, Location

I was originally contemplating staying at the Westin, W, or Grand Hyatt and I am sooo glad I picked the Westin. The location was perfect. One block from the monorail, the bus tunnel, both shopping plazas, a few blocks from Pikes Place Market. I walked most of the time. The concierge was very helpful. The room service was a little expensive, but there are so many restaurants around you don’t really need room service. I will definitely stay here again.

Hope you don't have a weather delay that causes you to miss a night staying at the hotel, because they wouldn't refund us for that night. Online travel website eventually provided the refund themselves after making my wife wait hours on the phone and eventually break down in tears. Not real impressed with either company. The room was okay, good view, but air conditioner only goes down so far, so we were hot the entire night in March of last year. It was also noisy in the room, thin walls. The best part of the stay was the breakfast downstairs, very good. I wouldn't waste my money there again.

Great hotel, great location

This was a very comfortable and well-appointed hotel, but more than that, for a first-time visitor to downtown Seattle the location couldn't be beat. The famed Pike St. Market, the monorail to the Space Needle, and Benaroya Hall (home of the Seattle Symphony) were all within easy walking distance. I also had some good workouts in the fitness center.

Mediocre for a Westin

We stayed at this hotel in August of 2008 for a family vacation, booking two rooms. We found the rooms to be on the small side and very average in decor. Carpet was well worn and bathroom amenities sparse. The concierge desk was always impacted (although once you got your turn, the staff was wonderful - just a long wait to get to them). The carpet in the lobby was in dire need of replacement. We had many problems with maid service. Almost everyday of our trip we had to call the front desk because housekeeping forgot to re-stock something in our room....coffee, coffe cups, shampoo, etc etc. It was almost comical but irritating at the same time. All in all I would consider the hotel sub-par for a Westin. We will probably pick another hotel for our next trip to Seattle. Parking @ $38 per day was an insult.

The Westin Seattle is a lovely property. Clean rooms, great concierge and amazing service from house keeping to the front desk. The location is convenient to all of the amazing restaurants and shopping that downtown Seattle has to offer.
