We had a very comfortable stay and loved the All Suite. The hotel room is clean, modern and very spacious. We enjoyed having a kitchen area; including a fridge and stove. The location is down town and close to all amenities, perfect if you are attending a concert at the MTS center. We will definetly stay here again!

Though all rooms are very good, the luxury suites have it made! Truely worth the highest rating. Recently renovated, the luxury suites are affordable, more than comfortable and are a vaction in and of themselves. Enjoy the leather furniture, hi def. wall screen TV and superb bed comfort. To top it off, each suite has full kitchen amenities including fridge (a real one), stove and microwave, etc. Yes, they even have the kitchen utensils such as toaster, cookware as well as all the plates and cutlery for you. The luxury suites make staying away from home so comfortable that it takes a lot of stress out of travelling. To boot, the Place Louis Riel staff are second to none.

I was pleasantly surprised staying at Place Louis Riel. After reading reviews I was concerned, but the Hotel was sold in 2006 and the new company is updating it. the Hotel is non smoking and guest floor hallways and rooms are brand new. Add a great downtown location and the new luxury suites and we had a great stay...One block from the MTS Centre where we saw a concert and went for dinner at 529 Wellginton which isn't close but was worth visiting..

Overall this Hotel is a nice place...

This tired-looking hotel has become rundown in recent years. The lobby looks like the rough north end of the city with rough, filthy people hanging around with nothing better to do. The hallways are dark and dingy elevators you take at your own risk, if they work at all. Staff members are unskilled and uncaring. Rooms are basic, bare, and grim, with old, cheap furniture. This used to be a fine hotel, but this place needs a wrecking ball. Do the city of Winnipeg a favour by losing it. This expensive all-suite hotel is too dangerous to stay in due to the people that hang around there.

Place Louis Riel (named after the Metis Father of the Province and one of the most controversial) is an all-suite 284-unit hotel. Very lovely, completely-furnished rooms with reasonable rates. This downtown hotel is owned/operated by the Manitoba Metis Federation (native French-blooded Indians) has restaurant/laundromat/fitness room, and convenience store on site. Within walking distance to shopping/theater/eateries/major tourist attractions www.placelouisriel.com.
