I did my due diligence and read the reviews on various sites about the hotel, and everything published helped set my expectations. The location was amazing - relatively quiet residential neighborhood and you are a block from Denman with a terrific selection of affordable restaurants.
Like other people have commented, it is more an extended stay hotel, so don't expect all the frills when it comes to service. Most of the staff were however very polite and helpful. There just weren't a lot of service personnel.
We had the "deluxe" suite which offers a very nice view of Coal Harbour. The downside is it faces Georgia Street, which is a busy street. Also, there is no central A/C in the rooms, so on a warm summer day, our bedroom was warm until about midnight. We didn't want to open the windows because of the traffic noise. The upside of a suite facing Georgia is because of the noise, instead of a balcony, we have a solarium, which is a great place for kids to hang out. It seems a little safer than a balcony if we were to leave them there unsupervised. The suites are very compact so any additional space came in handy.
I think I would stay there again on some cooler Vancouver nights, or if I plan to sightsee a lot and spend less time in the room.
