WE spent one night at the Red Lion Hotel, Seattle Wa, near the airport.....The staff was wonderful to let us check in very early after our cruise, then helped us plan an afternoon activity for our family while waiting for our fight home the next morning. The front desk ordered a cab to take us to The Museum of Flight, just down the road. Also this hotel has large rooms for a family and free airport shuttle, 24 hours a day. WE were very pleased with this hotel. Would stay there again...Great staff...

Exceeded Our Expectations

I gave this trip to my husband for his 30th birthday. The trip overall exceded our expectations. When I booked this hotel, I was just looking for something clean and comfortable that we could come back to at night, not anticipating being in the room too much, and I also wanted to be close to downtown. First, the decor was nicer than expected. Also, the bed and pillows were so comfortable that we wanted to take them home. This is coming from someone who is always leary of hotel cleanliness (I usually bring my own pillowcase from home) , but I really felt comfortable here. In fact, my husband and I intentionally went back to the hotel and took naps a couple of afternoons. It was so nice and relaxing. It's also nice that the hotel is not right in downtown. It gives you some nice dining options and keeps you a bit out of traffic. My only complaint was that the business center was out of order, but the staff was so nice that they let us use their personal office computer to print out a gift certificate from restaurant.coma nd to check in with our airline. I will stay at this hotel if and when we go back to Seattle. Great experience.
A few problems....

We booked this based on other reviews. Staff was very good, but there were an a number of annoyances. 1. Got in late and room service prices were exorbinant, even by room service standards so we roamed for some fast - food. 2. Beds were extremely soft and uncomfotable - pillows were just barely big enough for your head 3. Ventilation only blew out hot air despite turning thermostat down to 65. At 3AM we had to turn off the fan and open the window as it was stifling hot. 4. Looked forward to a workout - the exercise room was really hot and the only treadmill was out of order. On the bright side, the shower heads were great, the facility was clean and close to the airport, and the staff were professional and helpful. Still, we'll probably stay somewhere else next time around.

We love going to this hotel! It's close to the airport for early departures or late arrivals. This time, we used it because of its vicinity to downtown Seattle (10 miles or so) and wanted a mini-vacation. The beds are newer pillow-top, the rooms are huge with bay windows walls. The hotel is just across the street from the airport, but you can't hear the flight noise!
