Excellent Location

We could not have found a better place to rest after a long flight! They were painting when we arrived which is a good sign. The room was very spacious with a separate bedroom, so my husband could watch television as long as he wanted. There were full kitchen facilities. The shops and markets were within a 4-5 minute walk as we could see the Woolworth from our balcony. The one about Cairns that is not so great is there is no direct beach access, but there is a large pool across the street from the hotel. The hotel was very quiet all the time. The staff was more than accomodating with all our requests. I would recommend the Esplanade to any group. We plan to go back to Australia and if we do Cairns, we'll definitely stay at the Esplanade.
