Parking Fee-Mandatory

  • December 7, 2007
  • Rated 3 of 5 by a traveler from Travelocity.com
Although my online reservation confirmation sheet listed Free Parking in the Additional Amenities section, there was a $6 per day mandatory parking fee. Not a lot of money - but certainly an unpleasant surprise. You need to be aware that this is a time-share vacation property and as a "non-owner" you are limited to rooms only on the 2nd floor overlooking the parking lot. You need to drive through a not-so-great neighborhood to get there. Once you are on property, however, many aspects were very nice - beautifully decorated for the holidays, very clean, friendly/helpful staff, nice pool, and beautiful beach. I won't be going back or recommending, however, because this is really for folks within the time-sharing community.

Great Service and Rooms

Overall a very nice hotel with very good service and spacious rooms. A very family friendly environment, with activities for children everyday. There are limited bars/restaurants within walking distance so plan to either rent a car or $20+ one-way cab rides to downtown. Finally, the reason many people visit Florida, the beach(less than a minute walk from the hotel) offers a relaxing setting but also offers a variety of activities (parasailing, jet ski rentals, kayaking, etc.).

Professional couple Home in exclusive area. Say that so you have an idea what out expectations are. know what standares I look for. Location right on the beach, heated pool. 3 room suits only - no "rooms". Luxury. Iimmaculate, staff helpful-courteous, hotel safe/amenities great. Live entertainment daily. Good drinks, good food, heated pool. The Palm Beach Shores resort is in a class by itself. No pool boys waiting on you hand & foot. Who needs that anyway?

When you drive up to the resort you will immediately be impressed by the way the resort looks. The rooms are very nicely decorated. The bathroom is huge. The only drawback is that the room is a little too small for four people. The resort has a beautiful pool along with a tiki bar. The food at the Islander restaurant is delicious we ate dinner their twice. The staff was excellent and everyone is knowledgeable. We went to the beach twice; the resort is right on the beach. We really enjoyed our week here and would recommend it as a great family vacation resort.

Not the Best Location

Our family of 5 stayed one week. The pool looked good, but was not kid friendly. Smokers all over the place! Beach was beautiful and well kept. Game room or shall I say closet was awful. Rooms were just OK, furniture was very dirty and worn. Bathroom was a perfect 10. We kept our luggage in there as it had the most open space. Neighborhood is very rough! If you plan on staying inside the resort, you're OK, if not, you need to drive 5 miles to get out of the neighborhood. The parking lot is a nightmare. No night life nearby other than the marina.
