The Hotel Smells in October

We checked in late on Friday and walked into a room that smelled so bad we had to have the Manager bring a fan in to clear the air. It took about an hour before the room was tolerable to sleep. The Manager said they had no other room and that we would have to speak to the Day Manager to get a different room for the next night. He said we would have to pay for the room if we stayed in it or not, because he wouldn?t be able to rent it out that night. I told him no one should sleep in a room that smelled that bad. He said that all his rooms smelled the same way. The next day we found out he was right. A friend of ours that stayed in the room next to ours smelled just as bad. Management did up grade us for Saturday to a very nice room, but it still had a hint of the smell. The Day Manager was very nice, but we would still not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Good value

Although the property is a little rough (it appears to be an old Holiday Inn), the place is clean and quiet. The linens are fresh and the staff is friendly. Breakfast is first rate for this class hotel. Would stay again.

I don't think we would return.

The staff wasn't very friendly when we checked in and the room had trash on the floor. The next morning when we went downstairs for the breakfast, it was so crowded we didn't stay. It is located close to downtown. We used points on this room, so we didn't have to pay.

Friendly Staff makes Mistakes w/ little attempt to correct

I stayed for two nights with them. I was lucky to find a place that excepted my five lb. furry friend, my dog. The guy, X, who checked me in was great. The room was nice and they have a breakfast I enjoyed. I didn't reserve my stay, but they had two nights available. Like most places, they told me they needed a credit card to hold it, but I could pay cash at checkout. I had to wait awhile when there was one lady busy behind the desk, but I made sure to close out the authorization to my card, and I paid 278.88 cash and got a receipt. Later, my bank account was off and I noticed that was charged to my card after all, and they surprisely charged me for october 9, 2007 when I was nowhere near the area and had no intent to stay. I never make reservations and the manager (when I finally got ahold of him) said he would credit me for a no show, but that was a poor excuse. I had my card on me at all times, so nobody else was authorized to hold a room with it. I did not make a reservation ever with them like the manager said. He also was no help in resolving the matter of being double charged because I paid cash when I checked out september 21, 2007. So, I don't know what really happened, I just paid 391 dollars extra from the 278.88 I already paid and I was shocked at this, since they seemed nice and their records now don't match the receipt I got. The manager said they can't find anything. I know they keep everything on file and he should pay attention to that girl.Beware!

Over charged

I stayed for two nights. X checked me in-he was great. Some other lady checked me out. I paid cash but was charged to my card even though I unauthoriazed it. I also was charged a night I didn't stay, and the manager said it was a no show, but I never made a res. just showed up looking for a pet room. So, they made some serious mistakes and made no effort to check their records and get back to me. So, overcharge total was 391. Beware b/c they take cash and don't record it!
