In May, 2007, this motel was fairly comfortable and reasonably priced. It seems to have changed hands since then. We believe the new owners are using a "bait and switch" tactic if you arrive after a certain time. They claimed that there was a plumbing problem, but the parking lot was full. We believe they overbook, and then send the latecomers (we saw a list) to a fleabag motel next to the freeway called the Best 5 Motel (possibly same owners?) for the same price, which was already inflated because it was a big race weekend. That place had black gunk in the bottom of the pool, bird poop on the walkway, cracks and mold in the shower, brown stains on the old carpet, rust on the heater and air conditioner, thin stained towels, just to mention a few problems. We only stayed because it was 10 pm and we were too tired to go home. NEVER AGAIN!
