Okay Stay

The hotel was okay. They did not have refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms, which I thought was weird because we paid a decent amount of money for the room. The beds were comfy, the bathroom was in good shape. The TV was small, they could've upgraded that, after all, it is 2008. Room service was quick but much too expensive...I think thats why they ddin't have microwaves or refrigerators so they could make sure that you order out all the time... The one thing I did like about the hotel is that there is a taxi service at the entry of the hotel so you don't have to wait a long time for a cab. I'd give it a 7 out of 10.

Walking distance to everything.

The hotel staff was very helpfull, they gave us great suggestions of where to go, where to eat, and how to get there. The room was very comfortable and the view was spectacular, we were on the 22nd floor with a great view of the city including the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Also, the check out is at noon. Next time I visit Philadelphia I will be sure to book a room at Sheraton Philadelphia Center City.

Disappointing Experience

Stayed overnight so my military husband could get his early A.M. train. I at first thought for the price we were staying at a great hotel, I was wrong. First impression was a strong urine smell in the elvator. Food was a choice of an expensive seafood restaurant or expensive room service. $40 for two 6" pizzas & 3 cans of soda. Pool capacity was a total of 15 people & there were no dry towels available. None were brought even after calling front desk. Parking was $25 flat rate per day. Room was small. paid $179 + taxes (total $205) for 2 dbl beds. No refrigerator in room, no free wireless internet & no complimentary breakfast. The view from our room was nice but it wasn't worth what we ended up paying for a stay that wasn't even 24 hours.

Good, could be better

Spent five days here in November and enjoyed my stay. The rooms are in the need for some updates, but nothing too serious. Bathroom had mostly been updated, except the shower that had caulking issues which reduced water pressure to a below average level. Rugs are old and have a stain here and there and the room TV's are really outdated. That being said, the bed was very nice, the desk area was large enough to spread out to work, and the lounge chair with ottoman made relaxing here nice. Room service was fairly quick and always tried to go the extra mile, which is a theme here. The staff is great, they even upgraded my room to a King on the 22nd floor when I asked at check-in...what a view of the parkway, all the way down to the Art Museum (Rocky Stairs). Workout areas is extensive(including a racquetball court) , but really needs some updating and the pool is small, still with lots of TVs it was a very good place to get in an hour workout. The Seafood retaurant (Phillips) in the lobby was slow and unorganized and the food was not real good, I suggest you pass and get a drink in the lobby bar than walk/cab to one of the hundreds of retaurants nearby. Good location, out of the mainstream of market street, but a quick 10 minute walk to get to that area. Cabs are easy to access, and for 7 dollars you can get anywhere you want in City Center. The Sheraton City Center will not be mistaken for the marriott or Ritz until it is physically updated, but is a great lower priced option.
