Very clean, impressive rooms, pool was good (not great), fitness room excellent compared to many hotels (it had an actual weight room), bar is good, but expensive. Generally close to historic landmarks, but I would take a cab.

The parking was way too expensive for self park at 38.00/nite. Other than the pool being small and dark at night, the hotel was really nice. We had Starbucks coffee in our room... also a bonus to me. We had a view of the historic courthouse from our window. Philly is very clean and the public bus system was not scary at all. I've been in some cities where I did not feel safe. We took the bus each way for $2 to and from the historic Independence area. I can't wait to go back. I just hope we get a good deal again like this one! Keep in mind, everything historic closes at 5PM! Whole Foods is a short walk away towards Ben Franklin Institute, but there was no fridge in the room. We had a cooler with us. Good luck.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Adding in the relatively inexpensive price of the room (about $**/night) only added to my worries. Once I checked into the Sharaton Center City, boy was I supprised!
The hotel was yes, a few extra blocks from Walnut Street shopping and a quick cab ride from the historic attractions of Old City, but right at the doorstep is Love Park, City Hall, and The Parkway with a group of amazing museums! The rooms were clean and very accurate to the photos (blue comfortable beds and all!). There was also the wonderful indoor pool which no one else was taking advantage of!
Last year I stayed a little closer to the city in the Crown Plaza Hotel for over $***/night and have to say that after my four day stay here, I wouldn't book a room anywhere else!

I went to the Sheraton for a 4-day conference. The room and personel were great. The food provided at the conference was well prepared and provided a variety of needs for the attendents. I used the gym, which was clean, and always open for use when needed. The pool was clean and warm. I was disappointed there was no hot tub, I could have used that after sitting for 8 hours a day. Although tourism was not important to me, I found the location of the hotel to be well situated to many downtown attrations and areas of great shopping and dinning. I would recommend a stay.

My husband and I visited Philadelphia for a business trip in March of 2009 and stayed at the Sheraton Philadelphia Center City. The location was wonderful, walking distance to all the sites and easy to locate a taxi right at the hotel. The hotel lobby was expansive and comfortable. Lots of seating area, breakfast in the Cafe very yummy, and staff very nice. Had dinner and lunch on seperate days at the seafood rest. in the hotel, very good each time and the bartender was really nice and friendly. The room was suppose to be non-smoking and it stunk of stale cigarette smoke, really stunk. There was a small sign that said the room haad been cleaned to be a non-smoking room which in my mind meant it was a smoking room probably the reservation before and now for us they sprayed some room deoderant and it was good to go. The bed was very comfortable, and except for the smell it would have been fine. Probably would not stay there again because of that.
