A real live eastern Inn

Hotel comes complete with babbling brooks, rushing waterfalls, and striking mountains. It?s grounds (including golf course) are very well maintained and landscaped. - Beautiful, relaxing, and filled with sweet scents and sounds fail to describe the exterior environment accurately?and then there is the huge wrap-around multi-level porch complete with rocking chairs and beverage service all painted white with huge hanging baskets and American flags galore. And yes, the inside matches the outside perfectly. In terms of families - kids love this place because in there words, ?It?s a home away from home.? Even teens walked around with smiles on their faces! And just in case you associate kids and noise this Inn has a Quiet Time Policy during nighttime hours that is strictly enforced by parents as well as hotel staff. We never heard a sound even though we knew there were children nearby. This is truly a NH Inn (not to be confused with a B&B) complete with a staff that is all that a hotel staff should be from the desk personal to the dining to the grounds? they go above and beyond in service. And we should know this is our third time here! However, there are drawbacks?guest rooms are NOT air conditioned but fans are provided, the pool is outside about 40 feet from front entrance and down in terraced area, and all local road access in the area are 2-lane highways.
What a wonderful place to stay. "home away form" feeling

Hotel was a very pleasant surprise at great price. Spent first night on the veranda rocking chairs sipping drink from pub. Staff exceptional. Pool warm and clean. Away for 2 days and felt like a week. Free breakfast buffet plentiful with blintzes, waffles, omelettes, and more. Golf course inexpensive and right across street. Great place for kids and families! Lots of old charm-old phone booth, old phone in rooms, great old elevator, squeeky wood floors. If you don't appreciate history, it's probably not for you.

This "baby grand" hotel has a fabulous veranda, drop-dead views, and a pretty 9-hole golf course - complete with a PGA pro. This hotel offers very good dining at fair prices and generous beverages in the pub. Thus hotel has a great country location and is ideal for families, skiers, hikers, and shoppers. We love the free WIFI, game room, saunas and whirlpool. The heated pool was a perfect 80 degrees. Rooms have comfortable new chairs and art work. This historic hotel is good value for the money. If you need new or glitzy-this place is not for you.
