I keep going back

  • March 4, 2007

This is a hidden gem, though close to the highway, walking to the back of the hotel is like stepping into your own private oasis. Staff is friendly, shuttle service availabe to airport and local attractions. This is where I choose to stay when in the Bay Area.

Decent Hotel

The hotel was one of the most decent in Oakland.I was ignored by the front desk when I arrived and when checking out.I think the hotel on the outside is pretty nice, it has a nice harbor view on the back side, which is the side I recommend booking because the other side is a view of the freeway. The rooms are nice but need updating a bit.I probably would stay there again because it was generally decent and very affordable. Not recommended if you are looking for luxury though.

Great place to stay

This is a very convenient, charming, friendly place to stay. All the amenities including the computer room, breakfast may our stay more comfortable. The service of the staff was excellent. What a find! My only suggestion is that the bed in our room was too hard. I am would like to stay there again. Easy access to freeways and Jack London Square if you travel for business or pleasure.

Avoid

This property is mostly rooms, not suites. Rooms are outdated. The shower head came to my chin- (I'm 5'8") Street side rooms have a major noise problem in spite of double paned windows. Ironingboard and iron hang on wall just inside door, visible from bed, anywhere in the room. Closet is open-air (wooden slats) into the room. Tiny bath. If you must stay here, there is a marina side... request that. Also, the suites wing looks newer. That may explain the positive reviews. There are 60 rooms/floor in the "room" wing of the property.

Do NOT Stay at this Hotel!

This hotel should NOT have the current rating. The customer service is horrid, the rooms are NOT worth the price, nothing functions w/in the rooms function properly. The supposed complimentary breakfast was a complete Joke.
