We recently stayed at Shenahdoah Crossing because we own timeshare with them and thought it would be fun to visit a horse ranch style place for a change. I was a bit disappointed. We visited the second week of may and a lot of their stuff was closed. The outdoor pools were blocked off and we could only horseback ride once a day, and only 3 days out of the week were available for rides. I saw that there was so much potential for the place but that it was held back because of the time of year, even though it was in the high 80s. The cabins are infested (on the outside) with carpenter bees. I heard many people complain to the employees about them and one guy even rented a tennis racket to solve the problem in his own way. At night you can even hear them trying to tunnel in behind your bed and it really creeped me out. This is a good place to stay if you are trying to save money and have a nice family vacation together. There isnt much to do outside of the resort except drive around and look at the scenery or check out the wineries. Overall we had a good time but it could have been better if we visited a couple weeks later.

My girlfriend loved this place... secluded, romantic, and lots of activities! I believe the private cabin's last-minute-price was a steal. We plan on going back again!!

We stayed in a two-bedroom cabin. One bedroom had a very comfortable king size bed. The other bedroom had two twin beds. There was also a pull-out sofa in the living room.

There were two TVs- one in the living room and the other in the room with the king bed. You can rent videos right on the resort.

There was a kitchen with a stove, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher and dining table for six people. The bathroom included a whirlpool bathtub. The cabin was in a semi-wooded area so you could look out the window and see lots of color from the changing leaves. You could also hear the acorns hitting the roof.

Shenandoah Crossings

They have a hotel, campsites, and cabins that sleep four or up to six. The hotel is not as nice or private as the cabins. The hotel rooms are very basic, with two double beds. The cabins are nice, with one to two bedrooms and pull-out sofas. Some have a loft for the master suite. The toilet seats are low, but the bath tubs are a good size. Some are Jacuzzis. Only the camp sites are pet-friendly, and pets are not allowed out of the camp site area.

Resort Experience:
The resort, overall, is very nice, relaxing, and family-oriented. They do a good job keeping the grounds nice and clean. They have enough activities to keep the kids busy, but not too much activity to the point where the adults can't enjoy themselves.
