Great experience

We almost cancelled our reservations after seeing some of the terrible reviews of this hotel. After having a wonderful stay there, I think I know why there is such a discrepancy in reviews. The quality of the rooms is what you would expect to find at a La Quinta or Comfort Inn type of hotel. No, the rooms are not themed, but they are what you expect from a $**-$**/night hotel. Add in the convenient location and going to Disneyland at peak time, and you end up at $***+/night (the going rate during peak dates). If you expect a full service Hilton you will be disappointed. If you expect a minimal service La Quinta without breakfast, you will be satisfied with your stay. The castle facade looks nice and the internet worked very good in our room (plus you don't have to pay to connect). The pool was nice enough, but a little small, so I would expect it to fill up quickly at the height of summer. There are 2 jacuzzis. One nice touch was that the staff that prepared the room folded a couple of towels into fun shapes that looked nice. We were on the top floor, so can't comment on noise from above, but we had no complaints about our stay. Again, my guess is that what people paid probably had a lot to do with their experience. We paid about half of the regular rate, so we were very satisfied with our accommodations.

The room itself, I really can't say anything negative. I do think the hotel takes advantage of its location because its not really updated and I definitely didn't feel like royalty staying at the Castle Inn. I certainly didn't appreciate the cleaning service taking my son's watch. Yes, they steal here. My family and I went to breakfast, my son noticed he forgot to put on his watch, so after breakfast we specifically went back to get it. When we went in, we noticed someone had been there since all the towels were in a pile on the floor and the trash can was by the door. My son had put his watch on the night stand in the middle of the two beds and some how it grew legs because it was gone. I knew right a way what happened but I thought okay let's look everywhere before accusing someone-of course gone! Before walking to Disneyland we stopped by the front desk-told the man what happened and if the cleaning lady "found" the watch, just to put it back on the table. He then "called" someone on the phone and said they would keep eye out for it. My son's watch wasn't expensive-it was a Timex from Target but I honestly couldn't believe they stole from us knowing we were still checked into the place, I could see if I checked out and we left it.

Good choice for Disneyland relaxing

The hotel is older, but upgraded. Beds could stand to be replaced, but we were so tired from the Park it really didn't matter. We would stay again

Not worth the money - Not much like a castle.

Not as it is depicted in advertisements. Not of the overall quality expected. It is an old, run down motel with old, cheap and outdated fixtures and furnishings. Maintenance is on the shoddy side. One positive is the close proximity to Disney entrance. It will require some walking (about a good 2 to 3 long blocks, then further to actually reach Disney entrance gates). Pool is average. Don't be fooled by "castle" facade. This is not a "themed" motel and there is nothing special about it. It is large, noisey and crowded. Not worth the money we paid. We will not stay here again and we are frequent visitors to Disneyland.

And cram them into 2 rooms. Then proceed to run up and down the halls, shouting to each other, letting your little brats run wild and screach until midnight. Beds were uncomfortable, walls are paper thin. I've learned my lesson- keep staying at fancy hotels- it's worth the money.
