Wonderful Hotel

After reading some of the past comment about the hotel, I have to admit I was a little worried about staying here. I was very surprised to see how nice the hotel was. The room was very clean and quiet and the decor was cute. All of the employees were very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful experience and look forward to staying here again. My only complaint is that the monorail was not working. Being pregnant and having two small children, the walk to Disneyland was a little long.

It's Perfectly Lovely...

If you look on a lot of other sites that have traveler reviews for disney resorts, you'll often find that Paradise Pier seems to be the least favorite of the 3. After our vacation here, I have no clue why that would be. The most common complaint among these hard to please travelers is the "long walk" to the park entrance. These people must be insane. It took us about 5 minutes, and that's with 2 either tired and straggling or running wild toddlers in tow. If that's a long walk, maybe a trip to Disneyland isn't for you anyway. The accomodations were lovely, not super fancy, but most people know this going into it. Paradise Pier is supposed to be the 'cheaper' of the 3 Disney resorts, but cheaper doesn't mean Motel 6. The staff was more than helpful and friendly, and all in all we had a blast. As long as you don't expect accomodations like the Grand Californian, you will be pleased. But if you have small children, you don't want those 'super fancy' accomodations anyway. This is about as nice and 'fancy' as you'd want chasing after small kids. LOL Not intimidating, but very nice. Even walking through the lobby of the Grand Californian to go to the park, I felt as though I needed to shush my kids because people were looking at the "intruders." We clearly did not seem to be the GC type. LOL Paradise Pier is exactly what we were looking for.

We met our son and daughter in law and shared a family suite. The room and view were nice . The location was great. We enjoyed the breakfast in the the dining room and cool beverages in the lounge. The elevator service can be TERRIBLE and more than once we walked up 8 flights because the elevator wait was so long. This was during record setting heat of 100 degrees.

We had a pleasant enough stay considering we were only in the room to sleep.I wouldn't have wanted to lounge in the room particularly long if awake. The wallpaper was tearing down in two places and it could have use a fresh coat of paint. Beware that 12 floors up the toilet flushes SLOWLY. The staff was friendly and the hotel room was quiet. We were upgraded to a view of the park when we checked in automatically, so that was nice.
