Hold the Elevators

The worst thing about our stay was waiting for the elevators! For a large hotel, there are only 4 of them. Tip-if the elevators are busy, hit both buttons get on whether it's going up or down. It will be faster then waiting for one going the right direction!
The staff was very friendly, but the front desk clerk who checked us in didn't seem like she knew what she was doing and we had to wait for her for quite some time.
The maid service was awesome! Our maid even folded up the crib blanket and arranged the stuffed animals.
You can't beat the convenience to the park!

We all had a wonderful time here. Everything went great from the time we checked in to checking out. Can't wait to get back again. It was nice being walking distance to downtown disney and the parks.

Some Good Some Bad

Take the time to contact the hotel directly when making reservations. About half of the rooms face huge parking lots, trash cans, bill boards and powerlines. The other half shows the lights of California Adventure Park and some fireworks. I was disappointed with the drab colors of the room - and especially the view. Management got us relocated with a direct view of the pool (eye level), which hid most of the parking lot - lucky they even had it available. The move was appreciated. I don't understand why Orlando hotels for Disney seem to be more cheerfully appointed. If you can afford the difference while staying in CA, pay for the Hotel California instead. This was my 8th Disney trip (4th to CA). The lobby was sooo not impressive. One plastic Goofy was the center for attention and picture taking. The pool was cold and too small for the size of the hotel. The hot tub was tepid at best. There were building provisions for refreshments by the pool but it was closed down. One 2 yr old next to us got stung by a wasp while IN the pool. I packed a full sized foam mattress from Kmart to double up over on my mattress for extra comfort (works well for me on mediocre beds) . At the end of the trip it came in handy to tear and protect souvenirs I had purchased for the air trip home. The on-line description on the Disney site said the rooms had no safes. I called ahead, and yes all rooms have safes. I contacted Disney to modify their site. Overall this hotel was average - overpriced for what you got but not the worst either.

Great location and fantastic rooms!

My husband and I took my parents to California and Disneyland and decided to stay here. It is the cheapest of the three Disney property hotels. The view of California Adventure park was awesome! We actually stayed on the 5th floor which is not considered a "park view" room, but we still had a perfect view of all of the rides. The room was plenty large and had room for four adults, plus I think the couch had a pull out bed. The location is great because you can walk to all of the Disney parks and Downtown Disney. There was a nicely lit pathway that was helpful when returning to the hotel at night. The front desk helped us make reservations for a very popular restaurant (The Blue Bayou). I would definitely stay here again. We had a great time.
