We evacuated from New Orleans to Columbus, Georgia during Hurricane Gustav. I was initally skeptical of the hotel because of the low price. I love clean, new, modern hotels with state of the art technology...and I am willing to pay to have it. I got everything that I wanted, plus more! The staff was EXTREMELY nice at all times. Everyone always greeted us with smiles no matter how often they saw us. The facility was very clean and had all the necessities. The beds were divine! There was a wonderful gym and spa pool We rented two rooms for my family of 2 and my sister's family of 4. Breakfeast was fabulous also.
If we had to complain, it would be that the bathrooms were a little small compared to what we have at home; however, I would live there if I had to do so!
We already re-booked for Hurricane Ike! The grueling 23 hour drive from New Orleans to Columbus, GA was well worth it for the hospitality and service, even though it should have only been a 7 hour drive!

I stayed there when I was visiting my husband who had just graduated basic training. The hotel met and exceeded all of my expectations except an airport shuttle. On the website it says there is a free shuttle that will take you to the airport and this information is false. It was not a big deal because I just took a taxi to the airport, but at the time, I was expecting a free shuttle. Other than that, I would absolutely recommend this hotel!

We came to Columbus, GA for a few days to greet our son coming home from Iraq. This hotel is very close to Ft. Benning and also located in a central area for any shopping, dining and attractions. The staff here are excellent, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was awesome, with many choices for all family members. I would absolutely stay here again.

My wife, daughter and I stayed for two days to attend my son's graduation from OCS. The staff was courteous. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was more than we had expected. No question that I will stay at a Wingate again

Staff was very friendly, room was well-appointed and clean. Good selection of TV channels incl. HBO. They have a nice-sized whirlpool that we took advantage of. A nice touch was the free happy hour from 6-8pm Mon-Thu. Only disappointment was the free breakfast which was subpar but I typically don't expect much from these anyway. Overall it was a positive experience and I would definately stay here again.
