Great place to stay if you want to save some money without compromising on cleanliness, friendliness and location. Clean modern room, friendly office staff, wonderful housekeeping staff, a nice free breakfast- all in a very centrally located safe area. The city's biggest and best art supplies store FLAX is right next door and D'Alessio's is probably one of most interesting "urban" places for coffee, organic breakfast or lunch- next to FLAX. Caffee Trieste is just a block away- one of SF's more famous names for espressos, lattes, lunch, scones, etc. Huge big city feel to this place- the orginal being in North Beach. This motel is pretty big and the location is killer. The historic trolley line in out your front door as are several bus lines. Walkable to so many areas of interest. And lots of parking if youre driving. But every time we've been there we've opted for public transit... the easiest way to get around. No, Im not a professional travel writer- Im just a regular guy who is always VERY impressed with this Travelodge and this was our sixth time there in a few years and they never disappoint. It's not fancy but as I mentioned it doesnt really lack for much. No room service but the cafes are around the corner. Get out on the street and be adventurous!! This is a San Francisco great deal.
