it's just okay

This would have been a solid two and half star hotel except for the following problems:
1) Moldy carpet smell was unbearable. I changed rooms twice and was told it was because it's an old building. So, why don't they just change out the carpets. Someone was sent to my room to febreze it but it just smelled like febreze on top of mold.
2) Uneven customer service problems. A couple of requests I made to have newspaper delivered were not carried out. The desk person seemed to be indifferent.
If these issues were cleared up then I would consider staying in this hotel and again.
The good: Easy access to highways.

The Marriott had exceptional service! They provided me with any information that I needed. They were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were nice and clean. The showers were probably one of my favorite parts because they had two shower heads that gave us tons of pressure. I was a little disappointed that their pool wasn't available but their doing renovations so its fine. The restaurant (Sapphire) was terrific. Their food was very delicious. I recommend trying the flatbread! It was the best hotel I've ever stayed at and will stay at again!

This property left me slightly underwhelmed. They were not up to the typical Marriott standard. The staf was ok friendly, but not to well informed about transportation back and forth to the airport. The internet in the room was undependable and the rooms needed an upgrade. The beds, of course, were great. None of these reasons would be enough to stay away-just comments to manage your expectations.
A great place, now my favorite!

Wow, this was a big suprise! I left another Hotel in Charleston because of quality and cleanliness. The lobby is superb, the room although smallish was very tastefully done, clean and very comfortable. The 5th floor outdoor lounge was great with cozy outdoor firepits on a chilly night! This marriott will always be my first choice in Charleston!

My wife and I showed up at 11 am Sunday morning, I forgot to select early check-in when I purchased the night on on line agency, the staff happly held our luggage for us, gave us a free ride into town (instead of waiting around for the room) and gave us a map. The room was very nice and with a great view. My wife and I used room service twice, and they were prompt and helpful.
