Excellent Business Hotel

The Marriott Charleston is located on the Western edge and up on the Charleston peninsula. It is convenient to Hwy. 17 and has an easy connection to Broad Street via Lockwood. The location is, therefore, not good for walking but very convenient for driving.
The breakfast at the hotel was excellent. We also considered patronizing their 3d floor open deck one day. The deck, however, did not serve any kind of food, only drinks, Allso, the dining room is dark and does not take advantage of the beauty of the hotel's river setting.

My husband and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. Our stay here was excellent. The room was very comfortable (except the pillows) and clean. The staff was always willing to please and friendly, especially the bell hop. (Nate). We understood that major renovations had previously been completed. The entire hotel was beautiful inside and out. We also ate at the Saffire restaurant (hotel restaurant) one night and had an delicious meal. We also enjoyed our evenings outside on the hotels patios. We can't say enough about this hotel. You won't be sorry you stayed here. We can't wait to come back!!!!!

I have now stayed here 2 times and can not wait to return. Everybody at the hotel is so friendly and helpful. The dining room food and bar was really nice and good food too! Try the ribs or pizza. The breakfast buffet is worth every cent. You can even eat outside.
Try the rooftop bar. It has a view of the river that is wonderful.
The excercise room is huge and very new and has everything.
Lots of parking and a shuttle to and from the market area so you don't have to drive and find a place to park. Cabs are easy and cheap too, abt. $5 to the historical district.
Charleston is a wonderful place to relax. You can walk or jog along the river from the hotel or sit and watch the boats.
My favorite place in Charleston. I will return!

Although this hotel is still undergoing renovations, it is a clean hotel with responsive staff. We didn't have the pleasure of using the restaurant which was still undergoing renovations but you could see that it is going to be a fantastic hotel.
Just what I needed

This hotel may be nice once they are finished. The neighborhood is a little sketchy, but once I was familiar with the area I was able to get around well. I didn't need anything fancy, which was good, because they just weren't at the point to offer fancy. I was concerned about the bathroom, which apparently was redone, but was dated and wherein the lights and fan made funny noises.
