Great Place to Stay

  • January 16, 2007

Hotel and the staff are wonderful. I have stayed here over a dozen times. Everytime is a wonderful experience. The only thing that could be improved on is the elevators.... every time I go to check out, I wait on my floor for a very long time trying to get an elevator! However, I cannot think of anywhere else in "The Loop" that I would rather stay!

We avoided hotels denoting construction when shopping. We got in around 1 a.m. and were treated to the sounds of a jack-hammer at 7. They moved our room but we could still hear hammering and drilling. We chose Palmer House for the historic value and the location but weren't very impressed, the hotel was nicebut the rooms were dated and a little dirty. Not what we expected from a Hilton.

What a beaytiful setting. The kids laughed because I wanted to walk through the loby any chance that I could. The rooms were a bit small, but the beds were comfortable. They were very clean. Would go back ina heartbeat. The hotel was in the middle of the family venues, but if you had your walking legs on,there is much to be discovered on each block!

Princess Hotel

The beautiful ballrooms and fabulous lobby make this a one of a kind hotel. We stay there often and call it the "princess hotel". The rooms need improvement which they are still working on. The location is awesome. The only thing I would change is an elevator on the El train station in front of the hotel as it is impossible to climb up and down those stairs with luggage.
