CLEAN AND NICE

The hotel is old but very clean and very nice people. They had a very nice breakfast seat up as well. The bed was great, they had re-done all the beds. I had 8 different pillows on my bed. Overall I would stay again. It was for business and was close to my location.

We heard several trains during the night. Not well rested.

Convenient Location

Convenient location to freeways, downtown Salt Lake City and surrounding food and gas station.. Nonsmoking room smelled like cigarettes. Breakfast wasn't great, made one pan of gravy and by 7:30 a.m. was all gone. Bummer for the rest of us. I would stay there again for the price. Front desk was friendly.

Good for traveller with limited budget

We have a good time to stay this facilities for 5 days while I were in a conference in the convention centre and my wife and son stay in hotel. The breadfast is satisfactory and fair. Hotel provides shuttle services to convention centre free most of the time although it takes 30 minutes for some of the time. We can park our car in front of our room. We have microwave and referiagtor in the room. The down side is the room is small. Freeway is close and we heard trains horn at night. Also, we heard door open and close at the early morning. Also, the internet cannot be connected at night time. Other than that, it is good.

Antiquated, but good enough for short stays

Stayed twice in mid-March 2009. Once on arrival into SLC, then the night before leaving. Place reminded me of 70's style hotel, where you enter room from a common outside walkway. Because of this, I always shut the window blinds, making the room quite dark, especially with red curtains and dark decor. Bed comfort was very good, and when I turned on the heater fan, it created a nice hum that allowed me to sleep perfectly through the night. The single serve coffee makers produced really good coffee, but had to go to the lobby to satisfy my coffee fix. The number of stations you got on TV was astounding for a hotel, but I just stuck to the basics (ESPN, CNN). Getting to the internet was problematic. While I could see several access points, I could not connect to the strongest signal (true on both days I was there). Was able to access on a low signal connection and get to my email and such; maybe they just had some issues that week. Fitness center had the basics and allowed me to get my daily workout (they had elliptical, bike, and treadmill, and several sets of dumbbells and a bench). Nothing elaborate but OK. Lastly, I only went to breakfast one of the mornings (a weekend day); I was surprised they served it from 6-9am (like a weekday). I slept in as late as possible then went down at 8:45am. They were pretty cleaned out but after waiting, fresh scrambled eggs and hashbrowns were refilled but went very fast. I was not impressed with their ability to keep up with the crowd, but was happy I got my hot food. Overall, a pleasant stay given the cost.
