Not Very Pleasant

I got to the hotel for my 5 night stay with a splitting headache and waited 15 minutes to check in (3 in line) at 4:30 pm. My reservations were for a one king traditional room. Staff said they were packed and could not give me what I reserved. First room I got was a one king handicap room right next to expansion joint on parking ramp--very loud booming sound whenever cars would drive over it--not good for headache. I went back to check-in, waited and asked for room away from the parking ramp, got the same line of being overbooked, and got a two double bed handicap room. I stayed the first night in room and in the morning found out it had no tub-shower and no counter in bathroom. This was not what I wanted to stay in for 4 more nights. At 12 p.m. I went (waited) at check-in to request the room I reserved, told none were available and to come back in about an hour. Did this 3 more times, until I spoke with manager, and finally got one king traditional room (with tub-shower and countertop in bathroom). I felt better that I got a room I could feel somewhat comfortable in, but could not believe what it took to get what I reserved. None of these rooms were anything to write home about. The handicap rooms seemed awkward, at best. Had one outdoor patio end table and wall-mount sink in handicap room and had to close out-swinging bathroom door to get to bed area. All rooms looked worn and dirty. Linens and towels were worn and old. Certain staff members were not helpful or friendly at all. Hotel is located 3 blocks from Marta-downtown, 2 blocks of which are a steep hill.

BEST HELPFUL STAFF EVER

Upon arriving, we settled in our room at 11:00pm Turned on the TV and within 5 minutes, a loud boom and the TV went black. I called front desk, told them of the problem and within 6 min, 2 men were in our room assessing the problem. They called front desk, told them the TV was broke and to find us another room. We were located to another room exacty in location (next to elevator as our original request) but 3 floors closer to ground floor. The man who helped carry our luggage was very polite. The front desk gave us two passes for the breakfast buffet for our trouble. That was just the beginning of our encounter with the staff. The concierge was so helpful, the shuttle driver was also so helpful. He gave us directions and drew a map for us to go to Stone Mountain in our rental car. I travel a lot, and this was the most helpful and polite staff that I have ever had. In addition, it was close to all the sites, Aquarium. cnn, cokeacola plant, olympia park, etc. I SO recomment this hotel!

Great Service - Rooms okay

Just got back from a stay here. The service, from the front desk to concierge to housekeeping was like nothing I've experienced - everyone was amazingly helpful. The rooms were just okay, clean, but nothing special, which is okay because the concierge can give you enough suggestions of things to do that you won't be spending any time in the room anyway! Getting to the hotel is easy - we had no rental car but became experts at navigating the MARTA (again, with the help of the folks at the conciege desk) which is Atlanta's train system that goes to the airport and has a stop 3 blocks from the hotel.

The rooms are very small/hot. There are no air vent in the room/bathroom.We were supposed to have view of the city however it was a very of a brick wall. Not all what we expected for downtown ATL,we should have just gotten a cheap hotel.

Great service

We traveled to Atlanta for a mini summer vacation to visit the Aquarium and Coke factory. We were very pleased with the level of service we recieved and the cleanliness of the hotel. Great location- not too much "down town" from a safety perspective, but down town enough to walk to attractions and subway. Dining was expensive in town, try the peachtree mall food court, but be advised-closed on Sunday. Metro diner is good- but still pricey. Overall, we were very pleased with the hotel. We would definately stay here again.
