Overnight Stay...NOT

We made a reservation for an overnight stay to attend a college event. The only feed back we saw was "reasonable, clean, good value" and fuzzy a picture. Well...not so much! We arrived to a shabby, rundown, poorly maintained motel. Peeling paint, faded torn curtians and if there were not a couple of cars in the lot I would have thought it was closed and abandon. My wife refused to get out of the car and wouldn't consider staying. I didn't blame her. I went in the office to aknowledge my reservation and arrival and to tell management that we would not be staying because of the condition of the property. The office walls and celing were covered with some kind of ivy and had some sort of tailsmans hanging over the door. The management said to refund my money (they had run my credit card already) I had to cancel 24 hours before my arrival date! Of course, I had not canceled we had arrived on time with all intentions of staying! We then had to look for another motel. We had to go more out of town but found an clean well maintained motel although it too was an older establishment and at less money. I am presently contesting the charge with my credit card company.
This motel is now an America's Best Value and not an Econo Lodge but by any name..
AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!!!
NEVER STAY HERE!

We booked this Hotel because it was on the way and it was just an overnight stay...little did we know that this would be the worst piece of crap hotel ever built! Pulling into the lot, my wife and I looked at each other and literally said "This CANNOT be it!". Sure enough it was, and what a complete dump it really was. This was the absolute worst room I have ever seen! It was filthy, moldy and completely disgusting. The saying holds true...you get what you pay for, so spend the extra $* and stay at a REAL Hotel up the road!!!!!
Gross!

Because of hair and food in the bed, lots of roaches (alive and dead), a dirty bathroom, and trash in the room, we did not complete our stay. The manager did offer us clean sheets if we could come and get them from the office and replace ourselves. He would not check or clean the dirty room. Stay away!!!!!

The room itself was sized well enough. Unfortunutly the walls were paper thin, the shower was broken (hence the no water) and Housekeeping knocked on the door at 8 AM to clean the room while we were still sleeping. The breakfast was two kinds of cereal with some milk and coffee. Overall, not a very highly recomended location.
pretty good

The room was clean and pretty well maintained...the furniture was somewhat worn. Having a microwave and refrigerator in the room was a big help since I was traveling with small children. The motel is right off I-20 and the noise can be maddening...it really wasn't a problem inside the room though. It's a little far from downtown but there is a Wal-Mart just about 2 miles up the highway. All in all it was a pretty good room for the price and relatively quiet considering I-20 is right in front of you.
