I loved it!

I really loved the location. It had great atmosphere and everyone was helpful. The lobby was great for getting some work done; not loud.

Not a pleasant stay...

This hotel is in need of an update. The elevators are small and rickety. The room was small; the d?r of the room was shabby chic minus the chic, the bathroom old and stale. You can tell that it used to be a nice hotel but now it is old and in need of repair. I only stayed 1 night, thank goodness! The employees were all very friendly, pleasant, and helpful. I do not recommend staying here?definitely not a 4 star hotel, it should be rated 2 stars. Stay away if your have allergies there is a lot of dust in this hotel.

NOT 4 STAR HOTEL

usually stay at Westin around the corner, but thought I would try something new. Big mistake! Room was run down, almost dirty. We switched rooms due to lack of hot water. Bathroom so small that toilet tank cover wouldn't fit on tank because it hit the sink. Stay elsewhere, NOT 4 STAR hotel!

If you like to shop

This is a charming hotel a half block off the Magnificent Mile and two blocks from the lake. If you like to shop, you will be in heaven. The hotel has a martini bar and that draws a small crowd nightly. The Milennium rooms are tiny, but pretty. The bed was comfy, but the service was pretty abysmal. On the second day, they never showed up to make our bed or replace towels. And our coffee maker with the complimentary coffee never worked. We reported it twice to the front desk- no replacement ever arrived.

We had a very nice stay at this hotel. The room was clean, the staff was friendly and very helpful with sightseeing suggestions. The bathroom was very small but that was not a problem for us. There didn't seem to be much air circulation in the room but luckily it was quite chilly out so it felt good. We would return to the Knickerbocker again.
