A Great Bargain

We were in a standard king on 6/7/2009, about eight months after the hotel was renovated. The rooms, while small ("cozy") have a very nice ambiance with modern amenities such as the generous flat screen tv, tiled bathroom, and marble sink. There were also a safe available to store our belongings and a fully stocked fridge. The icing on the cake were the bed linens - they are absolutely luxurious. The staff was also kind, and very helpful. The restaurant serves a nice breakfast and is suggested for anyone looking for a good start to their day. The location of the hotel is also within easy walking distance of the mag mile for those who want to shop and a short cab ride to many of Chicago's premier destinations (Navy Pier, Sears Tower, Millennium Park, etc.). Overall the Millennium Knickerbocker is a steal for anyone looking for either the perfect weekend getaway, or an extended stay.

Cozy Room, Great Service!

I stayed here over a long weekend. Great location, about one block from Michigan Avenue with a Vuitton store right on the corner! Check in was quick and easy. I stayed in a room with a single king sized bed. Room was pretty small; fine for me solo, but may be a little cramped with 2 people and their stuff. Bed was really comfortable. I would definitely stay here again! Staff was great; helpful and courteous.

Truly Worth It

Excellent service. We were invitied to check in early when we arrived at 10:30am, then were pleasantly surprised that the room, with two doulbles, was not at all small as reviews we had read led us to expect. It was nicely furnished and exceptionally clean. Concierge service was very gracious and helpful. Super location for tourists on a girls getaway like ourselves. Would recommend it to a friend.

Vacation

The hotel, staff, rooms and location were all perfect. The breakfast in the restaurant was not worth the price. I have visited Chicago before and stayed in another hotel. For about $20, per person for the buffet, it was not good. The other location had a much better selection and higher quality. I love good food and do not mind paying for it, but the quality of this food should have had a $7-$10 price. Find food in another location.

Gorgeous!

Location was amazing, right off Mag Mile and across the street from the Drake. Lobby area does look old but the bar gets busy around happy hour. Hotel is quaint and historic but the rooms are all beautifully renovated and modern, the bed is SO soft. Service was so-so. Room service food isn't bad either. Rooms have very thin walls, could hear the people next to us through the connecting door but oh well. Amenities are very nice, Gilchrist and Soames. Didn't like the rainhead shower because the water falls on you directly from above, so it's impossible not to get it all over your face while you shower. Lighting and mirror for doing makeup was not a problem in bathroom as I had read in other reviews, because there are 2 lights and a magnification mirror. Rooms are small but not tiny..would not recommend for a family because as it is an old hotel, the rooms aren't huge like one would be used to from Hilton, etc., which would be newer. Would not necessarily recommend for a business traveler because the business center is a small room with some computers and a printer...Perfect for couples looking for a romantic getaway. Next time I go to Chicago, I'd totally stay here again.
