Terrific find, great value

I recently stayed at this charming boutique hotel and will stay there again. The location is waslking distance to great restaurants, nightlife, and shopping. Public transportation just a few blocks away if you are not in the mood to walk. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is simply beautiful. Continental breakfast provided which makes the hotel an even better value.

Refreshing, charming, lovely - great location!

Really a terrific Victorian-style Inn.... Amazing value for the price point, especially in a city like DC. Huge selection of terrific restaurants, shopping, and nightlife within minutes walking. Rooms clean, comfortable, and wonderfully historic. Great breakfast spread. Staff very warm and helpful. I would recommend this hotel one hundred times over your typical run-of-the-mill cookie-cutter chains. A very memorable, delightful stay!

This place is a hole. My room was tiny, cramped and in disrepair. Tiles were coming loose on the bathroom floor. There was no clock in the room. The walls were dirty and stained. There was a bright streetlight shining in the windows and the decrepit shades did little to block it out. Walls were paper-thin, so much so that I could hear my neighbor's wife talking to him over his laptop speakers. Worst of all, they charged us much more than the rate advertised on their website. The only redeeming qualities are free wireless internet and a good selection of free magazines and newspapers in the lobby.

Horrible

No dead bolt on room door. Windows did not lock. No control on heat. I put clothes on over my pjs & was freezing. The cold bathroom floor, however, did keep my drinks cold so I did not need ice. The carpet was filthy. The staff were not helpful and actually rude on the phone. The fact there is no parking should be clearly explained prior to confirming reservations. No drive way to pull into to check in. Not accessible, steps from side walk up to hotel then up to reception area. No elevator.

cheap but no sevice

The hotel provided us with wrong directions, twice, on how to walk to them from the metro. It took us over a mile of walking and carrying luggage. There was no heat controls in our room we needed our neighbor to agree to turn up the heat to get any. The service was awful and management didn't help.
