"Good location, but needs a lot of improvements."

The location (one block from Michigan Ave) and the staff were great, but the building is old. Worn carpeting in narrow hallways, a cracked window in the room, unknown stain on room carpeting, only one working icemaker for all 16 floors, a thick layer of dust under bed, a noisy air conditioner in my room, a sagging mattress, very small rooms and tiny bathrooms. The Red Roof Inn website states that this is a remodeled property. The room that I was in has NOT been fully remodeled in many years, and was overdue to be remodeled. Expect very little, or you will be disappointed.

Good stay

I stayed here for 3 nights. The room was clean and comfortable even though it was on the small side. The temperature in the room was great, but the elevators were boiling and since they are small people pack in adding to the heat. The front desk were helpful and friendly. It's affordable and in a great location. If you want more expect to pay a lot more and go to the Ritz. I had a comfy bed and clean room, no noise problems. For the price you can't ask for more.

A good value for the location

After staying at the nearby Hyatt a few months earlier, my husband and I decided to come back to Chicago for Memorial Day and stay here. The location was fantastic. Sure the rooms and elevator were small, but we weren't in Chicago to stay in a hotel. Even for Memorial Day prices, the hotel was a bargain.

Not too bad!

The location is excellent! Walk to Navy Pier, one block from Michigan Ave! The staff was helpful. Could use some updating! Rooms are very small but for just a place to sleep, I couldn't have asked for more! The price was great for the location!

Rooms are VERY small and less than clean. Staffing was unhelpful and made us feel we were interrupting them. I CANNOT recommend this hotel.
