Good Value, Great Location!

We've just returned from a three night stay at this hotel, with two of our grand children. The "Old Lady" shows her age; peeling paint, worn carpeting, etc., but our room and the public spaces were clean. The location, just a block east of Michigan Avenue, gave us good access to Chicago's public transit system. The staff were friendly, helpful, energetic, and knowledgable about Chicago, giving us good information on places to eat, etc. My only real gripe is the total lack of any Contintental Breakfast. Certainly a couple boxes of rolls, Bagels, Orange Juice, etc. would make the day's start a bit more enjoyable. We will definitely consider staying here again.

Our family stayed in the downtown Chicago Red Roof Inn for a 5 day vacation. The hotel is modest and quite basic as far as ammenities are concerned, but the location is superb. That was all we needed. Sightseeing was our main objective. We spent most of our time walking and utilizing the CTA. One of our best vacations ever.

This hotel is bare bones basic but perfectly adequate for those interested in sightseeing. Our room was small but it had two very large windows looking out over the city. Great view! This hotel was just what we needed.

The hotel was at a great location, it was clean and had all the great basics available, the location could not be beat, plenty of hot water altho the water pressure wasn't great, my room was a tad small but clean and comfy for both of us.

Great location, right off Michigan Avenue. Short walk to shopping, resturants, nightlife and The EL. Reservations need to be improved. I booked 9 nights well in advance of arrival however when checking in I could only register for the first seven nights, then on the following Friday morning I had to go back down and re-register for the last two nights of my stay. Still can't understand why I could not register for all nine nights when I first arrived at the hotel. Otherwise staff was very helpful and you can't beat the location.
