If you have to sleep cheap

I work for a police department in the narcotics bureau and I've been in nicer crack houses. We had a King Suite and one bathroom the roof was falling in and the other had mold growing on the ceiling. The toilet ran unless you took off the lid ad adjusted the water hose. There was a smell associated with the mold I think. My travel companions had their room broken into and items stolen by the staff, as there was no sign of forced entry. The elevators are tiny and there are only two for a 16 story hotel. I seriously would not stay here if it was free. I believe that you only get a room in Chicago to sleep, but come on this is ridiculous for a nationwide chain. The limited contact I had with the staff seemed as though they were annoyed by the fact you needed service. Add some more money and enjoy your stay at another facility

Disgusting

This hotel is disgusting. Our bed sheets had visible stains, a walk across the carpet in white socks produced black socks, our tub didn't drain, and the same pieces of trash sat in the hallway all weekend. I ironed the bed before we slept in it. The lobby has been refurbished, but the guest rooms are in terrible shape. The rooms are small and the bathroom barely large enough for one person. Our door didn't open or close easily. The elevators are very, very small and slow. The location is great, but you can easily find a much nicer hotel in the same price range.

This hotel is a dump!

The management simply stopped investing into the hotel. The rooms are not cleaned at all. There was a layer of dust on the carpet. The windows are dirty. The sheet and towels were clean. I suspect that the hotel owners do not pay their staff very well. The staff is very nice but are just overwhelmed with a lot of little tasks. I would rather pay a little more and experience a world of difference.

Fit our needs except for heat

We were planning a little Christmas shopping. The desk staff were smiling and helpful when we checked in. I appreciated the the fast service. The maid staff was friendly and spoke when we arrived at our room. Our room was small and old but it worked for what we needed. Our only problem was lack of heat through the night. When we called the front desk, they offered to send maintenance up immediately, but we chose not to due to lack of time.
The front desk staff offered a discount of $30. off our bill which I found quite a nice surprise. Our refund will have to go through online travel and take a bit longer,
I would stay here again because of location. It was reasonable rates and a block from Mag Mile.
If I were in town for meetings I might choose something a bit more upscale.
