Great room, excellent service!

The Red Lion is a great place to stay while in SLC! The beds were super comfortable and the room was very clean. The front desk people were professional and friendly. X, at the front desk was especially helpful in several instances. They have a shuttle that will take you to and from the airport and will also shuttle you to other places in the area if they aren't busy going to the airport. X, one of the shuttle drivers, gave us a ride to a play and also picked us up! My friend and I were there to do research in the Family History Library. The library was a brisk mile's walk from the hotel. We enjoyed walking to and from the library each day though you can take the light rail. They also have a decent high speed internet service. Another example to show you just how GOOD this hotel is, all of the Delta, Southwest, and USAir flight crews stay there. One small thing that I really enjoyed was the little soap dish they had on the bathroom sink! Though it was a small thing, what a novel idea! We didn't have to chase the bar of soap all over the bathroom like you do in most hotels! We will surely be staying at the Red Lion again during our next research trip to SLC!

The Red Lion in SLC is a comfortable and convenient place to stay but?it has a bar on the top floor. A number of rooms on the lower floors at the rear of the building are close to the separate ground level exit for the bar (not through the hotel lobby). On Friday, and particularly Saturday nights the low life types who frequent the bar are very noisy when leaving the place. There was too much noise to sleep, including security guards and police, until after 2:00 am Saturday night. Other rooms in the hotel have been ok in the past. Just stay away from the lower floors on the south west corner of the building.

Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I was disappointed with not having a free use business center, as my office does not have laptops for everyone. But, the staff helped me with anything I needed in regards to checking in online for my flights, etc.
