Spent 3 nights at this hotel for the first time. The hotel and room were very clean. The room was on the smallish side but very adequate, very comfortable bed, flat screen TV. Bathroom was very small, sink outside the bathroom, but very nicely designed. People who work there are very nice. There wasn't a fridge in the room and when I inquired about it, they sent up one immediately (no charge). Very convenient to everything, even though I had my own car, but the neighborhood is great. I would definitely stay there again. I guess the only negative would be the size of the bathroom but that's a personal thing. Otherwise, a nicely designed room.
Expensive for what you get

Small rooms, OK staff, unsecured parking............did I say small rooms? Really old, nicely decorated, but old. Noisy. Nicer places $ a night cheaper right down the block. Dirty sheets and pillow cases. Won't be back.

I had an overall brief and positive stay at this hotel. My only stress came at check in time. I had called ahead of time to clarify the check in time and was told it was 2pm. This was perfect as I needed to be ready for a wedding at 3pm. When I arrived, I was told that check in time is at 3pm and that the room I had reserved, with a view of the bay, was unavailable. The staff was quick to find me a replacement room that I could get into immediately.
a great alternative when visiting Berkeley

Our room with 2 double beds was clean and comfortable; however the bathroom was extremely small, crowded, with the sink out side the bathroom in the entrance way. Toilet and bath tub were unusually low, it was sort of weird, i wouldn't want to have to bathe kids there due to its size.
staff was very nice and helpful. When our toilet was cracked due to a maintence worker, they quickley replaced it while we were out .Not to inconvenience us, we were given a key to a room acrosss the hall to use its facilities, and to our surprise, the room with one king bed had a 'normal' sized bathroom -- what a difference it made! it seemed strange because a room with 2 beds would likely have more people, and yet be expected to share such a tiny bathroom!!!
location was great, safe, a very short drive to UC Berkeley, ( i was dropping my two kids off to start the new fall semester) very close to nice outdoor mall, and shopping area . close , easy access to freeway (but not too close!). kids loved the warm ,outdoor pool!!

Nice room on the 6th floor with a balcony overlooking the ocean and bay bridge going to San Francisco. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly. The king sized bed was comfortable, but not as nice as the Heavenly Bed at the Westin hotels. A free continental breakfast would have been nice, but they do offer free coffee and apples in the morning. The onsite restaurant offers a breakfast buffet for $ p/p or you can order off the menu. This Sheraton like most Sheratons offer free WI-FI internet connection if you have a laptop with you or you can use their business center which has 2 computers with internet connections for free and is open 24 hours. As for security, they lock the doors at 9pm and the only way to get into the hotel is with your room key or by intercom if checking in after 9pm. The only major complaint I have is the doors to the room do not block much sound, so you can hear everything that is happening in the hallways. The walls however are insulated well. A late 12pm checkout is nice and if you are a Starwood Preferred Guest member, you can request a 4pm late check-out and a free room upgrade upon check-in. The pool is quite small, but it is too cold to to swim in Emeryville most of the time anyways. The fitness room is small, but has the major equipment needed to get a nice workout in.
