Nice but with Problems

The hotel was new, nicely decorated and although the rooms were extremely small, it was adequately stocked with a comfy bed. This was probably the noisiest place we've ever stayed in. You heard the people next to you, in the halls, all the way to the front desk, as if they were in your room. Not sure they can correct that problem but would be a issue for some travellers. We chose this hotel because it offered breakfast when others did not. That's where the other problem occurred. The food was "off". It tasted like it all came from cheap, "big box" stores. My muffin smelled like chemicals; the juice was watered down, the granola was mostly oats, sausage was fake, etc. McDonalds would have been better, if that tells you anything. The staff was very nice and the price was good but if I stayed there again, I would not eat the food unless they had changed suppliers.

Romantic - I think not!!!

The single room (#102) was so tiny there was barely room to get around the bed. It was situated over the underground parking garage door, and we had to listen to it go up and down until late at night and start again first thing in the morning. This room is also located beside a stairwell, which contributed to the noise factor. The air conditioner in the hallway squeaked constantly, and we could hear the person in the next room snoring all night. On the up side - the staff were very pleasant, the hotel is beautiful with great views from the front side, and breakfast was great. If I were to stay at WindTower again, I would check out the room first (upgrade to a double or a suite). Definately ask for a room with a view of the Three Sisters.

Excallent Wish we had stayed here our entire stay

This hotel was wonderful, new, cozy, and detail oriented... Patio was great. Staff was above par.. We stayed here the last night of our trip, and let me tell you we were very dissapointed we had not stayed at the Windtower the entire time. Next trip to the Canadian Rockies- Windtower ONLY.

Great value but room a bit too small

We enjoyed staying in the Windtower very much. The staff was wonderful...especially David. The hot breakfast buffet which was included was much more than expected...a big plus. Eating breakfast on the patio was delightful. The decor was top notch but the room size was too small. Being in Canmore means that you have to drive a bit farther to get to Banff, Lake Louise, and the Ice Field. If you like a peaceful place to stay with great food, the Windtower will fit your needs.
