We found Avenue hotel on a bargain hotel website for a spur-of-the moment trip to Chicago. We found it to be within walking distance of the Magnificent Mile and a very good rate, so we decided to go for it. Normally we can't afford a decent hotel within the city, but I guess we got lucky. When we arrived at the Avenue hotel we loved the sophisticated but not stuffy decor and we were warmly greeted with a smile and a warm welcome from the doorman, who quickly assisted us with our luggage. Our room was very clean and well-kept. My husband thought it was a bit small, but in the city, that's to be expected. I found it to be comfortable and pleasant. I was excited to try the bed since it seemed that is what every other review mentioned and we were not disappointed at all! The best darn night of sleep ever. When staying at the Avenue Hotel you are in walking distance of some really great restaurants and shopping, no need to have a car while staying here. The hotel overall was very impressive, especially for the bargain we got it for. All in all, I would definitely stay at the Avenue Hotel when visiting Chicago, bargain or no bargain

Stayed two nights with the better half for a birthday weekend in the city, and we were very pleased with this hotel. Prior to our arrival we had already decided to request an upgrade - after all it was my birthday. When checking in they immediately upgraded us to a corner suite with amazing views. You know I had read on this site that previous guests had been upgraded without asking but I tend to be pessimistic and didn’t think it possible – well I guess I was wrong. Our room was spotless, and very well appointed. The robes were out of this world soft and the bed – I don’t think I have ever slept that good in a hotel before. The staff was always friendly and we were always greeted with a "hello" and a smile when passing in the hallway. Despite the great room and friendly staff, the main attraction of the Avenue Hotel is the location - just steps from some of Chicago's most iconic destinations. Overall, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

I did a lot of research when looking for a downtown hotel to stay at while visiting Chicago. You can't always go by the reviews because everyone has different likes, dislikes, expectations. However, I will say that from the moment we checked into Chicago’s Avenue Hotel until the moment we checked out, everything was absolutely perfect! All the staff we encountered, from the Doormen to Housekeeping, to the front desk and the fabulous concierge crew, everyone was extremely friendly and very willing to help.
The downtown Avenue hotel used to be a Radisson Hotel and Suites and has been renovated and is modern but chic with fantastic, nice size, comfortable, clean rooms! I must put emphasis on clean because that is important to me. The beds are to die for...I actually slept better than I ever have in any hotel, ever! The downtown location of the hotel is great, and is within walking distance of nearly everything. I even walked in my heels and it was no problem. The 40th floor Sky Lounge is a must see at night with the most incredible views of the city. Ask the bartender to make you some of their Sangria, you won’t be sorry. Honestly, I have nothing but good, positive things to say about Chicago’s Avenue hotel. When visiting downtown Chicago again hands down I would definitely stay at Chicago’s finest The Avenue hotel!

Staying at the Avenue Hotel Chicago made my Chicago getaway a fantastic experience! The location was wonderful, walking distance to fun shopping, the lake, great restaurants and generally fabulous people watching. The service was terrific both at the front desk and the cleaning of my room. The attention to detail, the positive spirit conveyed all contributed to the glow I felt while staying at the Avenue. I loved the chocolate decor in the suite and the view was fantastic! I would recommend this relatively new gem of a hotel to anyone. The fact that I got a very nice discount was a bonus.

We only stayed for 1 night. But, would definitely recommend. Front desk wasn't friendly at all, didn't see a bell hop and we didn't need the doorman. However, the room was gorgeous, with a fabulous King sized bed and pillows. The furniture in the room was very attractive a lovely full sized leather couch with a zebra striped chair, a full sized desk, and nice TV. Free wi fi was a plus. The bathroom was like in any motel to be honest, small bath with a shower, but did appreciate the hairdryer. The Sky Bar was nice, it was a very wet day and it was nice to sit by the fire and have a cocktail. The bartender was lovely, she heard our accents, knew we from out of town and gave us some great suggestions. The Elephant and Castle adjacent to the hotel was great for breakfast and doesn't break the bank. The location was excellent - right on Miracle Mile. Got a great deal through travel website and would definitely stay there again. We knew about the parking charges ahead of time so we did some research and found 24 hour parking a block away for about $32. We were meeting up with friends who were staying at the Omni for a lot more money and they loved our room. Believe me they paid way more than us!
