Lovely weekend in Cambridge

The Sheraton Commander in Cambridge was a wonderful mecca of friendly and wonderful service on a very snowy weekend. The room was lovely yet the bathroom though well equipped was quite small. I would say that was the only negative to the stay. Breakfast was very good and the valet service and parking was a great extra. Needless to say even in a snowstorm there is much to see and do in Cambridge (Harvard Square) and Boston was only a train ride away.

Built in the 1920s, but completely renovated, this is hotel is a wonderful place to stay during the holidays. This was our second holiday stay. The location can't be beat (a short walk to Harvard Square and the subway) and it seems to be quiet during the holidays. The staff left treats for us in our room on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. There is a small shop and a large restaurant. There is a business center and a fitness center, but we didn't use those. Note that parking is expensive, but this a perfect place to visit without a car if you want to see Boston.

This is an old hotel, but with modern upgrades. It is very convenient to the hub of Cambridge, accessible by public transport from the train station. The room was lovely. Although ours was directly over the entrance and on a main thoroughfare, it was deliciously quiet. Check in was a breeze, and the staff is very friendly. The cost per night could not be beat. Should I have the opportunity to visit Cambridge again, this hotel would be my first choice.
