This was a great weekend getaway for me and my girlfriend. We were tired of the big city and this was just a great way to get some peace and quiet, and GREAT LOBSTER.
I would definitely stay here again the food and service was excellent. The staff was always friendly. It was better then I expected.

Eastland Hotel could be a great hotel in Portland,ME, but the owners need to spend some money on it to fix it up. It needs work everywhere in the hotel. The room we stayed in was very small, the hallways need to be fixed up, the elevators need fixing up, the bar on the top floor needs fixing up, etc, etc. The top floor bar has a GREAT view, but the bar itself looks run down. The hotel is in a good location & it has a lot of history to it, but it just doesn't live up to what they tout it to be. It is a plain OLD hotel!

This hotel has received a number of negative ratings on this and other sites. My room was spacious, well appointed, and very clean. The hotel staff were very helpful in all respects. The rooftop lounge has a picturesque view of the surrounding area, with reasonably priced drinks. It is an exceptional, reasonably priced hotel in an area not known for reasonable prices.

The hotel is a nicely renovated historical hotel in downtown. Very safe, easy parking, and the rooms are nice. It is a older hotel so the layout of rooms are a little funny but nice and clean. Parking was easy which is important in Portland. The restaraunt/bar everyone talks about on the top of the hotel is very fun with great views. Wife and I would definetly stay here again.

I have stayed at many hotels, and this one by far is the worst. I check in, and the desk clerk cant get off of the phone long enough to assist me, and there was no one else there to help, and then I get to my room, and its filthy...and that wall paper is tearing off of the walls, mold and mildew in the windows too! Have fun if you chose this hotel.
