Description: THE RESORT:
The resort includes more than 700 rooms, ranging from "regular" rooms to casitas and vacation villas. Each room has a Heavenly Bed and a balcony, many overlooking the swimming pools or 27-hole golf course.
Regular prices for rooms are usually in the $450 to $550 range per night for winter months, while prices go down as the temperature heats up. Lower prices and discounts are regularly available.
The staff was warm and friendly.
OUR ROOM:
We were given an upgrade to a casita (basically an apartment). The casita was tastefully decorated and had a patio overlooking the swimming pools, a kitchen with a full-sized refrigerator, a sink (but no microwave or stove), a large bathroom with a separate tub and shower, a bedroom with a desk and sitting chair, a dressing table with a stool, two large closets, and a living room with a love seat, two chairs, fireplace, and TV.
AMENITIES:
The resort has two outdoor whirlpools (one in the adults-only area), a lazy river, a waterslide, an adults-only pool with lap lanes, and a large pool with a sandy wading entrance. The resort also has a 27-hole golf course, tennis courts, a spa, and workout facilities.
The resort has several restaurants ranging in price from economical (coffee shop just off the main lobby) to incredibly expensive (Deseo in the main building). In addition to a few shops in the main building, the resort runs a free shuttle to the nearby Kierland Commons shopping complex, which has many stores (Barnes & Noble, Chico's, Banana Republic, Anthropologie, Tommy Bahamas, etc.) and restaurants, including PF Chang's, The Cheesecake Factory, and Mezcal (see separate review).
