We had a nice king room with no view but we fully expected that and felt the value was great. The only complaint we had about the room was the lack of ventilation or ability to open a window. The weather in SF was warm and the room was stuffy as a result.
The location on Embarcadero across from the Ferry Building and convenient to mass transit was perfect.
Nice location, but tiny and noisy.

The front desk was helpful in switching rooms when online travel website forgot to book us. The city was full so we had to stay. The location of the hotel is great. Breakfast was nice and service was good. The hotel was very clean, but the rooms are very small and noisy. Many of the rooms are located above an exhaust fan from the hotel's kitchen on the first floor. Our room was so loud we couldn't sleep; it sounded like we were in a jacuzzi. The front desk was unable to switch off the fan but promised it would be off at 10:00 pm. It wasn't- it ran all day and night. Room service reports they get lots of complaints about the noise. Stay here only if you can sleep through an earthquake.
Good Choice

My only comment is to make sure you are not placed in an interior room, i.e., facing the shaft. These rooms are dark

"Expensive, small comfortable room. Room floor sloped toward outer wall. Room had absolutely no view other rooms may be better. Window looked into a rusty enclosed drain area. Expensive Room / Parking,,but it's San Fran."
