Holiday Inn Express Suites Centre Ville

Everyone was exceptionally helpful to out of country visitors. Centrally located close to all lines, great walking distances to everything. The front personnel were most helpful in arranging details for tours and directions - X was wonderful! It was really nice to get an upgraded room and it was ready at 10 am, when we departed from our cruise. The breakfast was wonderful - much more than just a continental breakfast - everything you could want! I only wish the entire hotel had been redone. A bit run down, but the friendly atmosphere made up for any lack in decore!

We booked this hotel because of mostly good reviews and since we are not overly picky about food, decided to ignore reviews about breakfast. Big mistake! Breakfast was consistently tasteless for all 3 days we've been staying. So bad that we were tempted to go and buy something but there was nothing close enough to justify the trip for breakfast only. The room and amenities were just average and for the price we paid we felt we could get a better deal downtown. The location itself is not bad but you need to walk 10-15 minutes to get to either downtown or old city. Parking was $16 a day, which I understand is an average for the area. In short, I would not stay in this hotel again.

The hotel is pretty much centrally located. We were very near Chinatown and not far from Old Montreal by foot. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. The hallways were a little funky and the carpeting could use some shampooing. Also there was a lot of dirty laundry piled in the hallway which made me uneasy, but once we got to the room we found that it was clean and quite large. I was surprised that we had a nice little kitchenette which was helpful. The breakfast buffet was a little crowded, but the offerings were good. The fitness room was out of the way and scary for a woman alone, but still not bad.

Family of 4 had a good affordable stay here. No pool, but a good breakfast. 1 mile to McGill, 1/2 mile to old quarter, 3 blocks to the big arts plaza.
