Sheraton Krabi

The Sheraton was located approx 45 mins from the airport. We were intially met by a friendly security guard who had to raise a gate to let us in, this was not really necessary because the locals were all very friendly outside the gate. The staff were very friendly but try not to organise anything too complicated such as splitting a room of kids and getting another room, it may be hard to explain at the end, try to get it signed by the manager prior to agreement. The hotel was set in the jungle and mainly concrete because of the humidity and rain but it was done well. It looked a bit tired but they seemed to be in a constant state of painting while we were there. The rooms were very nice even though they were a lot smaller than they seemd on the internet. The pool area was fantastic and not crowded when we were there, which was in the off season. The resturants were very nice but like so many other hotels they were very expensive, especially compared with the quality and price of the resturants just outside the gates. We spent time eating out, but one of our party would not dine with dogs hanging around, which was unfortunate because I think it is part of the experience. The pool was a bit noisy because of construction as part of an upgrade to the pool area, which will basically double the pool area and provide another couple of resturants. We went for a friends wedding and it was done on the grass beside the pool and the beach, it was the best wedding I have been to and the service for the meal on the beach was fantastic, pricey but well worth it.
