Nice hotel in great location. The first two floors had been remodeled so it looks like they are in the process of updating the hotel. The halls in our floor seemed dark and kind of scary. Everything was small but for the amount of time we spent in the room it was great. Would stay again.
Great hotel!

Affinia 50 was a great place to stay. Wonderful location, clean, incredibly comfortable beds, very accommodating staff (except for one of the concierges, who was not helpful and acted like he was bothered when you asked him a question!). We were in NYC on a vacation and would definitely stay here the next time we are in town.

The hotel lobby clean, well air conditioned & modern looking. Reception and door staff very friendly. Check in went without a hitch. However room on the 3 rd floor A/C would not cool beyond 76 degrees. One sleepless night later we requested that someone take a look while we we enjoyed the city. Upon a late return to our room, it was obvious that they had sent someone up - however not that they had managed to fix the faulty A/C. Oh dear, another sleepless night - this time with the window open to every siren. and noisy group of folks that passed (Saturday on E50th st.) Next morning we requested a move of rooms, and the reception staff were very accommodating. We were offered a new room on the 2nd floor, that appeared to not only have A/c that functioned but that was also bigger (King bed), with larger open areas by the door. The rest of our stay was just fine, We received a good amount of help on our last day as the taxi/airport transfer company tried to jip us out of our return journey (DON"T USE SUPER SHUTTLE services - not unless you enjoy the nerve racking experience of not knowing whether your transport is going to turn up or not, then taking 1.5 hours to get to Newark from the E side seems they prefer to collect cruise passengers and jilt the prepaid hotel stayers in favor of them. Great hotel, great location!

This hotel was great. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The location was convenient. Our room was spaceous, clean and comfortable. We booked a Junior Suite with two queen beds. The attention to detail was impressive. We went to their Concierge service online before we arrived and requested the pillow menu and other requirements. The temperature in the room was comfortable and controllable to our liking. We even stopped by for the wine and cheese social for a short time. The bellman x was so sweet and helpful. We ( me and my sister) went to New York to celebrate our older sister's 70th birthday. She walks with a cane for assisitence. X honored our requests that we made ahead of time regarding this. We couldn't believe the amenities for the price. This hotel contributed to the great memories we have of our trip to the Big Apple for our celebration. We will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and we will be staying there again. Since we travel quite a bit here and abroad, we have experienced many situatiions. This was definitely a good choice.

If you're looking for the best comfortable sleep in the big city Affinia 50 is there for you. Not only is it close by to nearby shops and restaurants but you are in the center of Midtown. The BEST part of my stay here at Affinia 50 was the welcome we received and that they remembered who we were. This was our second stay at the hotel not only for the comfortable beds but the exceptional service we get from the staff. Kudos to you all! We will be seeing you guys again next year!
