Every morning at 4 and 6 AM the freight train passes by the hotel and whistles it horns every morning! Stay away!
The noise is unbearable and it doesn't matter what room you are in every room is loud.

Good location , great staff

The hotel itself was really nice, the staff was great. The drawback is the train horns throughout the night and early AM. Request the street side away from the tracks.

Beautiful San Diego

The location is the highlight of this hotel- right near San Diego Bay and Little Italy and the trolley station. Rooms and hotel are modern, clean, well kept. Front desk not knowledgeable or helpful re. local restaurants (yes there are restaurants serving up to 11 pm in Little Italy besides fast food franchises.) Room windows only open one inch- why not let more of that fresh sea air in? Continental breakfast was a pleasant surprise- lots of choices, covered all the bases. Shuttle service to and from airport is fast, friendly. Overall great value.

pleasantly surprised

timely p/u per airport shuttle/ friendly and competent staff/ nice room...view ongoing construction. pool availability great/ AWESOME breakfast/ hot and cold buffet...was expecting "continental"/ safe area to walk ..strolled each morning to the waterside park, great restaraunts nearby, pricey to inexpensive family style....only negative thing was ltd. space parking, but we didn't have a car. would be staying again this w/e, but they're booked full. Oh, either the trolley stops running at night, or we blocked it out. free internet in room and lobby was helpful to check dining, schedules, flights, etc.

very pleased

We called for the shuttle from the airport, they came within 5-10 minutes! We checked in early, had a great room, comfortable bed, nice breakfast(free). We felt fortunate to be close to many places and the trolley stopped right behind the hotel to take us anywhere else we needed. So no extra cost for a rental car or breakfast made this very much an afforable stay. The staff was great and the trains that ran at night did not bother us. You could use small foam earplugs if you are a light sleeper. We would definitely stay there again.
