Hotel right on the beach with cabanas and chairs to rent. Room nice, if needed anything, hotel took care of it immediately. Room keys didn't work very well, had to visit the front desk several times. Planning to go back again next year.
Nice hotel would stay again

I was doing a tour with friends in various cities throughout Texas. This hotel was a great location. We only stayed here one night. The hotel is in a great location, on the beach, has a tiki bar outside, a swimming pool outside. Unfortunately, the weather was not accomodating for us because it rained and was windy, but obviously has nothing to do with the hotel. The location is great for the beach if you're looking for a getaway and there was numerous of outdoor activities nearby. Mustang Island State Park is nearby. The location for the city is approximately 10-15 minutes away, depending on where in Corpus Christi you need to go. Like most of the other hotels I stayed at during this vacation, a complaint I had is that none of the ice machines worked. You had to go to the restaurant downstairs and have them get ice from the kitchen which was inconvenient and uncomfortable standing in the middle of the restaurant with ice buckets or a cooler. Another minor problem was that the walls were really thin, you could hear your neighbors but it was not too bad. I would stay here again because of the isolated location, nice beach getaway.

Was on beach - that was good. Rooms old, sofa bed for kids was bad - springs practically came out of mattress (kids not comfortable). No pictures on wall. (very odd) Not close to anything (walking distance). No good shops on island - had to go back to Corpus Christi. It was definitely overpriced for what you got. The rooms have no opening windows and our window had bird droppings on it - not making a great view. Bathrooms small. The workout room was two treadmills and one bike (that's it). Callling this a "resort" hotel is a real stretch.
The staff was very nice and tried their best to help with the mattress situation, but did not have much to offer but another bad mattress. Game room is a joke (ping pong table and a broken pool table). Take the extra time and go to South Padre Island if you want a Texas beach vacation. Very dissapointed. Would not go back. If you go to Corpus, stay close to the Lexington or the aquarium. Those were both a lot of fun!

Upon checkin, staff very friendly & helpful. Hotel old but clean. Stayed in junior suite, again old but clean and the price was well worth the view. We stayed on the 6th floor and our view was spectacular of the Gulf. Received drink tickets and the staff at the bar was friendly. The pool and hot tub were cold so we did not swim. The next morning, ate breakfast, it was made to order and was part of our room rate. It was good but not great. Overall the stay was good and would recommend to others just be prepared that it is not a newer hotel.

This hotel is o.k. The housekeeping staff are friendly but the hotel always looks/smells not so clean. The room was nice but the bed was VERY uncomfortable, with some springs portruding. The pool area is nice and the cabana bar with live music makes up for some of the hotel's deficiencies. Parking is a problem, especially when the band is playing because it is open to non-guests. The food/pricing at the restaurant are o.k., but also smells eggy and everything is sticky (table, salt/pepper shakers). A good thorough washdown with bleach once in a while can go a long way.
