I won't go back

I've stayed at Hyatts before and have enjoyed them. This Hyatt experience did not provide me with the feeling that I was valued as a customer and did not leave me wanting to return. We reserved a king room 2 months prior and upon checkin received a double room. The explanation was that all of the king rooms had been assigned but I could certainly get on a waiting list for one another night. Finally got a king room the next day and discovered that the AC didn't work upon my return to the hotel at 10:30pm. One hour after requesting maintenance, I called the front desk to ask about their status and was rudely informed that I evidently wasn't their only problem of the night. I told the front desk to cancel maintenance, as it was approaching midnight. Waited 5-15 minutes for elevators each time we wanted to use one. For * night, I certainly expect better. I will not return.

My husband and I traveled to Chicago for a Cardinals vs. Cubs game. We picked this hotel because of the location and the previous reviews. We found the hotel very nice and the service and staff wonderful. Everyone was very friendly at the hotel. The restaurant/bar pricing seemed a little high but I think it was comparable to other restaurants in the area. The food was really good but not excellent but the convenience of the restaurants being located in the hotel was worth the extra money. We really enjoyed the piano bar, Daddy O's. The piano player was great and it was a nice relaxing evening after a huge win against the Cubs. Go Cardinals!!!!

Nice people.

Accommodations are average. When we checked in the person behind the desk asked us if this was our first time in Chicago, when we replied that it was, she upgraded us to a suite at no charge and wished us a great time. Later there was an issue with phone calls on our bill, but they took care of that to our satisfaction.
Even though the air in the room was a bit stale, the staff in the hotel was great which makes for a pleasant stay.

Had the most wonderful view

We had the most wonderful view of the city and the river from our window. Our bed faced the city so we went to sleep with the city lights....it was awsome. We got a really good price on the room and it was a great surprise weekend for my husband....the concier was kind and I recommend seeing the Blue Man Group as we did...awsome show. The BIG bar was fun and the drink prices were not above average. Overall wonderful time.

This hotel is near everything. I walked to Magnificent Mile, the beaches, Navy Pier and the Taste of Chicago in Grant Park. The staff can take a long time for requests as I asked for a few things such as towels and blankets and they were not brought to my room until the next day. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay and I'll stay here again next time I'm in Chicago.
