They were over booked and asked me to go else where for one night. when I said no they found me a room. A room without bathroom lighting. I asked them to fix it. they didn't. Bellman that greeted me at the cab. tossed my bag I had to excuse myself next to another gentleman to pick it up.

Horrible Experience!

While the hotel itself is not bad, the rooms were a huge disappointment. We were celebarating valentine's 2009 at Hyatt and had requested for a quiet and private room. It was awful! We could hear our neighbors throughout and next morning were woken up by kids screaming in the adjoining room. To add to the 'wonderul' exprience, they even had adjoining doors, which was constantly prodded by the kids. Upon complaining, we were asked to wait 5 hours, after which our rooms were changed. Annoying, to say the least as we only had a weekend in Chicago. Same story here so I went to walgreens and got myself ear plugs. A total no no if you have any romantic plans. My entire weekend in Chicago was ruined because of not being able to sleep at night with the noise. Do not recommend unless you operate well without sleep. Instead go to a two star where you'll get similar ammenities and pay half.

My fiance and I stayed at this hotel three days before new years until new years day. The location was great we had an excellent room overlooking the city and the lake. The hotel staff from the valet to the housekeepers were great and attentive.. I really enjoyed my stay.

Nicest staff, great location, but not the best experience.Sorry

Our "Junior suite" had no view and in the morning there was no hot water for taking a shower. The bathroom did not have a tub, only a stand up shower (which was true for all three bathrooms that we used in the hotel.) The stand up shower wouldn't have been so bad, but there was no place to put your shampoo, razor, or other items except for the floor of the shower. And everytime you finished showering you would step out on to a very sopping-wet floor (as the water would leak out on to the floor if you didn't constantly watch to make sure the shower curtain liner was inside the shower basin). As for not having hot water, the hotel was quick to send up someone to work on the problem, while we sat in our pajamas, but I had to request to take a shower somewhere else before they offered us another room to shower in so we wouldn't be late for our appointment. They did, however, give us a better room (after my request for it) and the new room had a spectacular view. The next morning we had to wait for hot water again. It took about 10minutes of running the water before it became hot enough to shower in. The bathroom in the new room was smaller and also had the same stand-up-shower problems. Parking at the hotel costs about $2 per hour which cost us an additional $150 for three nights. We searched the area for cheaper parking, but everywhere we searched would not let you park all night long. However, the valet was a nice feature if you can afford it. The staff, especially at the front desk, was extremely helpful and friendly. Excellent location, just off the magnificent mile.
