Love the bathroom!!!

The room was spacious and the bathroom is posh, sleek and sexy...One of the better rooms stayed so far. Loved the design of the lobby and overall, services were good except for the business center which can't provide a pen when one needed it. Will def stay at Eton again if going back to Shanghai!

Luxurious Bathroom

The most impressive part was the bathroom. We were upgraded to Deluxe because they don't have room with our request (one king). (Maybe) the difference was the view. This room has a bathroom with spectacular view, it is on the corner, with bath tub facing full corner glass window, one side was the Shanghai streets with Skyscraper and the other was the river. The room was clean, excellent package of free toiletries, very nice and comfy slippers, goose down comforter, full glass wall (no window which is safer for kid) with very nice view. Excellent staffs, very friendly, and English fluent front desk. The water quality (this is from the city) was not that great, my kid played in the bath tub and the water was yellowish, that was why they provided two bottles of half liter drinking water as complimentary (this is standard in hotel in China). The other standard goodies across China that are unusual in US are: tooth brush, tooth paste, comb, and slipper.

We stayed at the Shilo because they were having a special. All the rooms have an ocean view and is a short walk to the beach. The rooms were very basic and not maintained. My son cut his foot with a metal strip coming off the bottom of the door. We told the front desk at check out and my husband said she didn't write it down or seem at all concerned. The sink did not drain and had a slight odor and the shower did not drain very well either. They did have a lot of water pressure coming out of the shower. Our room had two queen sized beds, table with two chairs, a desk, TV, microwave, coffee maker (my husband said it was pretty gross w/ mold inside), iron and board.

It is a short walk to the casino and the games area for the kids. Safeway and McDonald's is right around the corner.

Overall we would never stay here again. We liked that the beach was right there, but the accommodations were just awful.
